Horizon program "LifeLUNG"

As part of the Horizon Program, the EU is funding the LifeLUNG program for the genetic modification of donor lungs with a total volume of € 4.2 million.

The overall coordinator is Laurens Ceulemans (Leuven), WP1 (Experimental models) is headed by Clemens Aigner, Head of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at MedUni Vienna and Vienna General Hospital.

The Medical University of Vienna is involved with Clemens Aigner, Alberto Benazzo and Alexis Slama.

Other project partners include Lunds University (Sweden), UMC Utrecht (Netherlands), UCL (United Kingdom), KU University Leuven (Belgium), Hopital Foch Suresnes (France), Fundacio HiTT (Spain), University of Basel (Switzerland), University of Tübingen (Germany), Aarhus University (Denmark).
