Optimization of treatment procedures for curatively treatable lung cancer
In Austria, lung cancer is one of the most common malignant tumor diseases, with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounting for around 85% of all lung cancer diagnoses.
Correctly defining the stage of the disease plays an important role in providing stage-appropriate and hence optimal treatment: early detection results both in more effective treatment options and contributes significantly to a better long-term patient experience.
The aims of this project are to minimize delays in diagnosis and treatment initiation and thus make a significant contribution to the survival and quality of life of these patients.
In this context, interdisciplinary cooperation remains essential for rapid treatment success.
